For many years, it has been a tradition at Sacred Heart to live out our stewardship promise and put our faith into action by supporting the Advent Project. Paul and Heidi Semones saw a need in the local community and, through their leadership; this ministry began in 1974 with twelve families. This past year we collected clothes, toys and food for 60 families and 136 children.

The parish Advent Giving Project helps families in our local community to have a happier Christmas. We begin on the first Sunday of Advent by having parishioners sign up to sponsor families by purchasing food and gifts for the children. The weekend before Christmas the food is collected in the parish hall on Saturday and delivered to the families on Sunday.

Their services include a self selection food pantry, financial assistance, food delivery to the elderly, a Christmas Basket project, a halfway house for women and other volunteer opportunities.
