The Sacrament of Matrimony comes about through a promise made by a man and woman before God and the Church, which is accepted and confirmed by God and consummated by the bodily union of the couple. Because God himself forms the bond of sacramental marriage, it is binding until the death of one of the partners.

Couples should contact the deacon at least 6 months in advance to plan for the wedding. We are happy to assist you anytime to plan and prepare for your wedding.

Couples coming to the parish to be married first meet with the deacon to fill out paperwork and then they are administered the FOCCUS evaluation (Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding, and Study). When finished they are assigned a married couple who will meet with them three-five times in their homes. The engaged couple is also asked to attend a one-day Pre-Cana Program in the parish or to make an Engaged Encounter weekend or a Tobit weekend.
